The core offer at the Back Door Music Project is that young people aged 13-18 yrs old are able to attend quality live music events at a subsidised cost in a safe, supportive and alcohol free environment in the heart of the town centre. Professional staff are on hand ranging from door security, sound engineers, music coordinators, youth workers and a volunteer team.

Alternative music school (Juniors 13-16 yrs)

Alternative Music School is aimed at helping beginner and intermediate young musicians (aged 13 – 16 years) learn to play, the sessions are a mixture of solo tuition and group tuition, developing individual skills and building collaborative music making. 

Alternative Music School runs at Back Door Music Project, The Broadwater Centre, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1HE each Wednesday 4pm – 6pm during term time..  It cost just £2 per lesson.  Students can register for Alternative Music School on Wednesdays between 4pm – 6pm or Thursdays 4pm – 7pm
